His commercial work is grounded in cinematic storytelling, strong visual worlds, and a sharp instinct for people and performance. He is drawn to work with a point of view, whether that means building something ambitious and heightened or finding something deeply human in the real world. Alongside commercials, Carlos continues to develop his own work across film, television, documentary, and photography.
In 2018, he was selected as a Notable Writer at the New York Television Festival with his original TV pilot “Far Apart”. He is currently editing a short documentary following four older adults who have found unexpected ways to keep participating in life through grief, aging, loss, and change, and writing his debut feature film set in Mexico City.
Across all of his work, Carlos is interested in the intersection of people, culture, and the worlds they inhabit.
Carlos is a retired gymnast and loves running, cycling, live music, sour candy, and chai lattes.
